How to remaster music with adobe audition step by step.

Ok first step start adobe audition  

Load up the mp3 you want to remaster it should look like this.




Make sure you clicked the green edit button to be on the right place.
Now clic the first mp3 to make it blue.then go on the menu effect.



Select filter & EQ,then chose graphic equalizer you will get this windows.




What i do which is the best for me is see the way i set that box.




If you notice i only elevate the first 2 gilt path to no more then 6 for the first and a little lower for the second,this will add some bass in your file.
I also only play with the last 3 gilt path slider to gain clear,as you can see up the windows there is a effect preset that i save so i don`t  have to re adjust all slider again then i save it,it look like that.



Clic the little floppy disk and enter a preset name of your choice,i enter skinno then save,so we are done clic ok you will see a progress bar then you modified mp3 will have a stars beside to show it as been modified it look like this.



Then clic on the seconds song and repeat all these step,once all the song ar made clic the exit button and a save box will open which look like this.



This will save the change in all songs,now it happen that i have to do 2 or 3 pass to make it sound the way i want,what i mean by 2 or 3 pass,is after  adobe as save all song and listen to a few,and i if find there is not enough base or clear i open back audition and repeat all this which make a second pass,so in other words you modify them a second time.

At the end if you find some distortion in sound because you add to much bass,you can use MP3 gain and lower the sound,i don`t have it install yet so will add the pictire of mp3 gain later when its installed.

That is about it.

If you do this without compression, like you said, you get distortion (clipping), and if you do add compression, the track will sound...well... compressed . I wouldn't do this personally because the sound engineer that's mixing the track in the first place knows what he's doing (for the most part). Also, software EQs (built into your media player) do the same thing without destruction of audio (doesn't permanently save the audio so if you make a mistake and save accidentally in Audition the audio is pretty much ruined.)

I agree with Lone Wolf on this one..
I wouldn't fuck with the actual audio track, but just adjust the equalizer in your music player.
It's pretty hard to not fuck it up.

I do this without compression and use mp3 gain to remove the clipping,then it end up with a better sound and no distortion.
Trust me i do that with every albums i put in my ipod,cause am ripping them at 160 kbps and remaster the sound for my need,and you could not even ear that its 160 kbps.
But i make my batteries last about 10 hours more like that,the ipod touch is  about 23 to 25 hours of batteries life,but with my setting it last 33 hours about.

So i don`t compress at all,in some rare case some albums ed up at lower volume,but its not an issue for me the ipod is playing so loud that these albums still play louder then what i need.


I remember my first 4 gb ipod nano,it was lasting about 10 to 12 hours which was sux,and its that ipod that make me develop that tricks.
Believe me or not i was able to last around 18 hours,every of my friend was wtf fuck your doing bro how do you make it last that long with eq on  
This tricks work with all mp3 player,of caurse it won`t work for a flac player.

It work so well for me that 1 of my old friend ask me to redo all is ipod music that way,the fucker add a 32 gb it toke me almost 1 month to remaster all is music,but as for today he still have all that remastered music on is drive cause he still can`t believe how good the sound is now vs what it was at 320lbps,and is batteries last about 33 hours to,at 320 it was under 20 hours,so no need to say he is damn happy

One thing i forget to say,every album that i remaster for the ipod are not showing good spectral after,but trust me it still sound way better in the ipod.
Which is not the same for my sound system,in the sound system i can ear the difference,but in the ipod that setting is just amazing for me.  


1 more edit and its the most important.


I have to say as well that i have in earbuds,sony one ,good quality,which as frequency 6 hertz down and 23,000 k hertz up.
If you take normal frequency headphone ,they just can`t old on that extra bass and clear i add on my music for the ipod.

So yes it need good quality headphone,20 hertz down and 20,000 khertz up is the standard frequency in that case the sound will distortion.
But not in my earbuds sonny,which i always stick to in ear buds at these frequency or my tricks won`t work.

I did try this out and removed clipping as Skinno mentioned, can not mention how great it sounds now on my mp3 player. aargh!

Note:
I'm not a profesional sound matering or work in studio, so you're are free to do this or not
Sorry if i miss some the names menus of AU, i have it in spanish so i'll try to translate in english

I Use Adobe auditio (I know some of you don't like it because is not free but is the only that i know to use)

Firts if you have a wave like this:


You need to low a little bit the wave (is because is to hight and can be a problem), so you go to Effects>Amplitude & Compression>Amplification


Now the menu appear, select the cut of the db (this means the wave be less than the original wave), make sure you test 1 by 1 begin in -1 db cut to -10 db cut (you can f*ck up all your work)


Now your wave is a little bit low (compare with the original) looks something like this


ok something what we need is recover the wave (not that ugly square) this is something that i find by my self and work fine (but has a trick) click on Effects>compressor>multiband


Play the song in the menu and you can see 3 different kind of waves (?) at this point you can be free to make the changes that you need but i always use the same. From left to right (i guess) is for Bass, Middles bass, and hight sounds so you can configure like this (but always feel free to make the changes you need)


And know we have a wave sound very nice almost like a regular wave
