there is a program called get data back which actually recovers all lost files on internal and also external hdd's
i had a similiar prob with vista ran that prog and recovered nearly 750 gb lost off 2tb external

Fuck, fuck, fuck alright.  This seems to have happened to me too. I went to have a listen to Spray For Jesus - and it is gone!!!

This is going to take some time to work out what I have lost.

Nah don`t freak out with this,the issue i describe was true with the first few vista version,but for me i must did something wrong or to fast.
As said i was doing a short cut of my flac folder by the time i put the shortcut in my desktop my flac folder was gone,and my shortcut was not working and was invalide.

So i never really understand that one and never will,the closest thing i can come up with is windows toke 2 command at the same time instead of making me a short cut only it make me a short cut and delete the folder i was making a shortcut with cause i click in between the 2 option in the context menu.

I first thought that the file as just gone like this because i remembers some very first win  vista was losing file,but this problem is long time gone by now well i hope
