Vista & windows 7 be aware fuck fuck fuck.

Dammit its my first time ,but the problem all describe is not new i eard that many time,but it finally happen to me fuck.

Ok today as i just came back ,i start my pc everything seem ok,but i just notice my flac folder is gone & the space relating to it is back as free space.
Now i am really fucking piss,cause flac was my god format to have HQ music,now it seem i have to rebuild it all.

Damn damn damn & fucking damn shit,i thought that problem was solved in windows 7,in my case it never happen to me in vista.
But damn it just happen to me in win 7,now i am really worry about my file integrity,whats gonna get delete  next.

So be aware of this shitty problem,i just lost 90 GB of flac releases & that`s all i was needing to be on my ass,3 years of work just gone by it self

Well i can`t be 100% sure,but as i know vista had that issue but after thinking very hard ,cause its hard to believe that windows is losing is file ehehe.

I maybe have another explanation,but its not any better its still strange.

Ok what i also think that happen,is i made a short cut of that flac folder,but i when very fast,so i guess windows did 2 command on that 1 move.
So i think when i clic to make new short cut windows pic up the delete option at the same time,cause i got my short cut & never see any deleting box.
But 5 minutes later when i need to use the shortcut well it was not working,then i found my flac folder was gonne.

now am doing a data recovery and it seem like all get my file back with a lots of work

Ok its going not to bad,i try many software but all fail to successfully recover all  .cue file and log file,all these file are corrupted,some of the flac are corrupted as well,but not many,now i finish recovering all .flac file for a 80 GB out of my 90 GB,my problem was i could not cut them into track,but have just found a cue sheet file site which so far help me cutting my flac to wav to make sure its working.

So this process will take age but at least all get back most of it, oh all scans seem corrupted as well.
But all have most of my music yeppie

I religously back my files on to Hard disk (DVD 4.7 GB) and my 500 Gb seagate HD. I have vista for almost a year now and have never encounterd that problum

So far i think about recovering 35 Gb out of the 90 Gb ahahah shit happen.
Now i though maybe i did something wrong,but i can confirm it is a windows glitch,might be related with some other software i use.

Why i say i can cinfirm ,well out of 9 different recovery software i try,all can see file that as been delete on their respective folder name.
Accept my flac folder was appearing as unknown folder & 70% of the contain was corrupter,so if it was a hand delete i would see that folder name as (all flac releases),but instead it show as unknown,so like i say,i am sure now its not me,this never happen to me in 20 years 
But i previously read a few article that describe that problem when vista first came out.

Also i make that drive so it can keep 120 gb of deleted stuff,i never found my flac in the recycle bin,so another thing that confirm me its a win glitch ehehehe.


@ atom well i do back up on DVD all mp3,and i usually burn flac to cd-r as original cd,but i didn`t buy any DVD or CD disk in a long time now,lol.

Oh well it not a big deal,am happy i found a .cue file site,its cue sheet from mp3 by what i see,but its cutting the wav perfectly so all good.
Also Atom if you have a list of your flac link let me know,that would be handy i think

Thanks mate it will be very appreciated,as for now am still in the recovery process 16 Gb are back now,but with only the flac file with the cue file.
nfo,m3u,sfv,and scan was all un recoverable,so i might get back to you to get back some of these file.

No mate do not worry ,windows 7 is the very best and by far,i mean it & everyone here can confirm , so stick to windows 7,just do not waste your time with the 32 byte version.

You might not notice much speed ,but trust me the pc will run way smoother then you can think or see.

Now i think i have the proper reason for losing that 90 gb,i think i pushed my FSB a bit to much,even if the pc is stable like hell,the fsb was kind of hight which sometime lead to some losing file.
But i will never really know for sure what really happen,the drive was also very full another thing that do not help,ah to many different reason why this happen so fuck it,am at 21.6gb recovered so far so not to bad ahahaha.

No need to rush for a external hdd mate,as i always say its the user fault 
Well in my case i will never know if its a pc glitch or a user glitch,but with all the experience i have,i have to go on the second choice.
I probably did something,while my head was thinking to something else,i never lost file from a windows glitch beside the file in the operating system.

So as said my best bet ,is i crank my front side bus to high,cause the night before i notice that 90 gb lost,i did overclock my pc more then usually.
So this is my best explanation i can think.

Agree with this even if i don`t have external drive and never will,your data is not safer on a external hdd.
In fac i would not count on a external drive to back up my music,so far DVD is the best for me.

1 of my good friend drop one of does drive and lost everything,un recoverable data,he actually start backing up on dual layer dvd.
I will start that too soon,but dual layer still to expensive for now,i use RIDATA CD and DVD which are grade 1 that`s mean top quality.
Some of my dvd back up still just like the first day,dvd are not giving me problem to retrieve music from even if some as 5 years now.

Just be careful on being cheap to save a few buck for this task,i did and many dvd was un readable after 2 years,so put your music on good name dvd.



My nightmare is over,i recover 25 gb of the lost file.
